Melena smiled as she saw the woman’s face.
“My home is near enough ma’am you need not worry about me.” She said softly. For a moment she hesitated unsure of how to go about her questioning. “…Are you Elphaba?”
{ ☽o☾ }: Her entire body stiffened at the mention of her name. It took her a second to recompose herself. No one asked for her, no one knew her and most importantly no one cared, not in a very long time. And she wasn’t ready to face this time right now.
“ I’m afraid.. I’m not who you seek, child. ”
{ ☽o☾ }: She hushed the girl outside, thousands of questions starting bubbling in her mind, but she dare not voice any of them, she had been through much too erase herself, lost too much. She wasn’t going back now.
” Listen, girl, I don’t know where you heard this name. But you might as well stop meddling with things you know nothing about, it’ll bring you no good.
So just go now, and leave me be. Please.”
For a moment Melena allowed herself to hope that she had got it right, that the death of Elphaba had been a cover up. The woman’s answer made her smile slip and she nodded.
“I apologise then, I was lead to believe that Elphaba had saved me and you look very much like the photo I have of her. But I was wrong and I apologise.”
{ ☽o☾ }: The first drops of rain started falling from the sky at that point, still uneasy on whatever mockery this girl was playing, but now her curiosity was getting her best and say what you will, she was a little wary to send the girl home on that weather.
“ Now you’ve done it, girl. ”
{ ☽o☾ }: She sighed, and close her eyes, as if accepting her defeat, and gestured for the girl to get inside.
“ If what you are saying is true, I might be able to help you.. find what you are looking for. I .. knew her. For a long time. Now, just step off the rain before you catch yourself a cold.
Now, be careful not to get it all wet inside and tell me, what’s your name, girl?"
